Positions

The positions vacant depend upon the firm’s current requirements, but we welcome applications in the following areas.

Graduate program (Articled Clerkships/Legal Traineeships)

Lloyd Meridian Legal’s traineeship program provides law graduates with formal training combined with invaluable hands-on experience which focuses on advancing your business skills and legal knowledge.  We look for graduates who have sound academic results, display an interest in the practice areas of our firm and who understand the commerciality of business.  You must have strong time management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to work.  Additional language skills are a bonus.

Seasonal and on-going clerkships

In recruiting law clerks, we look for students with good academic results and well developed interpersonal and communication skills who are in their penultimate year of study.  Our firm prefers students who are undertaking a double degree in a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce/Business/Accounting or Engineering.  We also value diversity of experience, including part time or vacation work, involvement in extra-curricular activities such as volunteer work and involvement in community, arts, sport and business organisations.  Additional language skills are a bonus.

Legal Support Staff

Supporting a number of lawyers, you will assist in the smooth running of the entire office.  Ideal candidates will be organised, demonstrate initiative, well presented and have a strong work ethic.  High attention to detail, a sense of urgency and ability to work well under pressure are essential.  As an office all-rounder your daily tasks will include managing all incoming calls, meeting and greeting clients, front office management, dicta-phone typing, email and diary management, filing (hardcopy and electronic), preparation and compilation of letters and documents, billing processes, archiving and liaison with clients, barristers and other third parties.
