Migration

If an application ...has no hope of success... a registered migration agent...must advise the client in writing that, in the agent’s opinion, the application is vexatious or grossly unfounded (emphasis added)

Excerpt from Regulation 2.17 Migration Agents Code of Conduct

Focus

There are approximately 84 classes of visas and 148 subclasses of visas.  Lloyd Meridian Legal concentrates mainly on business, employment, skilled and family visas in respect of onshore and offshore applications.  Our firm also advises clients on maintaining their Permanent Residency (PR) status and, in some cases, reinstating their PR status.  Our migration clientele ranges from individuals, local companies to multinational corporations in applications for business migration, and permanent, temporary and bridging employment visas.

Professional accreditation

Our firm only engages migration agents accredited and registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA).  MARA is the peak professional association of migration agents appointed by the Australian federal government and provides assurance of high standards of knowledge, ethics, financial accountability and professionalism in the provision of migration advice.

Legal and other multi disciplinary support

Our firm consists of established members of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.  This multi disciplinary support enhances the content and quality of applications, especially of business migration submissions and applications, to the State and Territory Governments and the Federal Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

International exposure

Lloyd Meridian Legal’s lawyers are invited and engaged to speak at international exhibitions on law, including migration law.  Our firm has handled applications from numerous countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Africa, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and the Peoples Republic of China.

We are multi-lingual and conversant in customs and cultures of the Asia Pacific region and have a panel of translators on hand to assist with communicating with our clients (if required).

Fixed pricing policies

Our migration matters are generally charged according to a fixed price policy.  In accordance with the requirements of good legal practice, a costing agreement is provided to every client detailing the fixed costs and conditions for the scope of work.  As a sign of good faith, your first consultation is complimentary – please feel free to book a complimentary appointment or teleconference by contacting us on:
